LED ZEPPELIN: More Concert Tickets Available
November 2, 2007LedZeppelinTickets.com is offering LED ZEPPELIN fans a chance to own a super-collectible ticket plaque featuring tickets from ZEPPELIN's slated performances at Chicago Stadium in November of 1980.
Devout fans know the unfortunate and tragic story of the late and great John Bonham. On September 24, 1980, it was announced by Chicago radio stations that tickets for four ZEPPELIN shows (November 10, 12, 13 & 15) would be going on sale the next day via a special mail-order form in the Chicago Tribune. On the day of sale, the excitement was extinguished as fans would learn of the sudden and tragic passing of John Bonham. The shows never happened, yet these tickets were printed for these appearances. The original ZEPPELIN as we knew it was done...
In 1986, Metro Pulse Inc. acquired them from Chicago Stadium and the rest is (even more...) history.
Earlier this year, VH1 Classic was so impressed with the offering that they did a major promotion with LedZeppelinTickets.com in conjunction with the station's airing of the classic movie, "The Song Remains The Same". Dozens of lucky winners now possess a rare ticket plaque as a result.
In addition, the ticket plaques were featured giveaways on the popular nationally-syndicated radio show, "Nights with Alice Cooper". The show's contest generated more than 1,700 entries and was easily the show's most popular contest to date.
